So in the beginning of April I officially decided I was going to take my girl to Disneyland Paris. I knew way before that I wanted to take her somewhere, we changed our plans about holidays as Abbie wants to drive and get a car, which is fair enough I'm so glad she's doing that. I didn't want her to miss out on going on holiday, so I thought I would take her away... Disneyland Paris then came into my mind. I did so much research looking at when was best to go, originally I was going to take her in January 2017. I'm not allowed time off in November which is when the Disney Christmas season begins. I thought I would ask my boss nicely, even though I wouldn't get paid holiday pay I didn't care, it's a dream of ours to go and I was so determined to make it happen. I was so lucky to be able to book 14th November - 18th November off!!! 5 days in Disney DURING THE CHRISTMAS SEASON!!! I wanted to text Abbie so bad to tell her I got the time off but obviously I couldn't as she had no idea. I decided to write on a piece of paper "We're going to Disneyland" and try and take pictures of the paper with Abbie in the picture, she had no idea I had taken any of these, there are only 6 but that's because I told her earlier than planned, oops.
Abbie was fast asleep, little did she know what I was up to!
She's just doing her makeup, no idea that I've even taken this picture
We FaceTime all the time when we're not together, I nearly got caught taking this one but she probably just thought I was on Twitter or something!
Abbie does her hair, Shannon takes a selfie
How close can I get?
Telling Abbie...
I realised I couldn't keep it a secret, there was no way. I wanted to tell her on her birthday which is 19th July, but that was 3 months away.. 3 months too many. So I thought I would tell her earlier, but I thought this was a good idea as she could ask for euros for her birthday if she wanted, and I would also have someone to get excited with. She was happy I told her early as well so thank god for that.
I knew how I was going to tell her, I had already planned my video how I wanted it to be. I was going to do a "stop motion" style video, it wasn't going to be perfect but I was so happy with how it turned out. I had a dilemma on the day of filming as my brothers tripod has a screw on top for the camera, but of course it didn't fit mine! I ended up switching to a smaller camera, cello taping the camera to the tripod. It worked, and survived the whole time I was filming! When I told Abbie it was a Friday evening and Abbie was out for a couple hours, I finished work and arrived at her house whilst she was out. This worked perfect for my plan as I wanted to put up some balloons, and set the camera up to film her reaction.
I wanted to do red, white and blue balloons as those are the colours of the French flag but I didn't want to give it away, I know they're also the same colour as our own flag, the American one and many others, but I didn't want to give anything away before she watched the video!
Please watch the video it makes me so happy to watch and I hope it makes you happy too. Her reaction was so cute and I am so happy with how it went. She was so confused but it was just adorable. I even made her a little certificate thing she could keep which told her where we was going, when and what I included in the trip.
Hope you guys found this post cute, I want to continue posting on here, I love writing and sharing random bits of my life. Me and Abbie have concerts and 2 holidays this year and would love to share my pictures and experiences. Thank you for reading love you all - Shannon :)
